The town is organised around its beach: a wide stretch of sand, cycle paths, surf schools and the Canal Olímpic left over from the Olympics. Areas within the district
Castelldefels Playa is the beachside grid, the most sought-after for renting. Centro is the historic centre up the hill by the castle, closer to the station and everyday errands. Bellamar, Montemar and Vista Alegre are residential hillsides of houses with gardens and views. Can Roca is quieter and more affordable.
Getting around
The R2 Sud train reaches Barcelona-Sants in roughly 25–30 minutes. By car the C-31 and C-32 take about 25 minutes into the city and around 10 to El Prat airport. Between the beach and the upper centre, a car or the bus is easier.
